Front Wheel Bearing Service

Bearings that are used in front wheel application in passenger cars and light-duty trucks have two natural enemies:

  1. dirt, and
  2. heat.

Many bearings must also suffer the additional hardships of mishandling and poor adjustment. Then if you throw in such items as poor lubrication and severe overloading and road shock, it becomes apparent that the amazing thing about the automotive front wheel bearing is the fact that it lasts as long as it does.

Even as good as modern front wheel bearings are, however, they do require some periodic service and, upon occasion, they must be replaced.
