My 1969 2002 has a gas gauge that almost always reads full. Both the sending unit and the gauge have been replaced and the problem persists. Any solutions?< Author: Richard Oldham
Assuming that you have correctly replaced the sending unit and have checked back issues of the Roundel for the many articles on fuel gauge problems, your most likely source of trouble is a bad ground. Check especially both the battery box itself and the ground strap from the battery to the body. On many older cars, enough corrosion has built up that the gauges very often will work incorrectly or erratically. Tech Ed.
