BMW muffler hanger brackets, for either fours or sixes, can be replaced with Mercedes rubber donuts (Beck part number BU 186) for around $1 each.

Slop with silicone, put on the car, stretch down with a coat hanger and slip on muffler.

Works best with an Ansa or Abarth because of the design of the muffler.

Volvo rubber donuts will also work.
