My 1976 BMW 2002 automatic has been having cold engine stalling problems after a minor tune-up by my dealer. A number of visits later, the problem is still with me. The dealer now doubts that the problem can be corrected. What do you suggest?

How about going to another dealer? Or to a good independent? If there is one thing that the 1976 2002 were noted for, it was good cold running tendencies. For you to now have problems in this area suggests that something very obvious is wrong and that your dealer does not have the expertise to fix it (or wants to sell you a new carburetor Tech Ed.
