Are you getting tired of paying six dollars plus for a new wiper fluid bottle because it is cracked due to excessive pressure from the mounting bracket?
The solution is simple. Purchase a roll of felt weather stripping from your local hardware store. Cut off a piece five inches long and cut this piece in half lengthwise. Trim each piece to fit the bracket ears. To make up for the added thickness of the felt, spread both ears of the mounting bracket where it makes side contact with the bottle. Glue a piece on the inside of each bracket ear and let dry.
Note that the 2002 bottle can be used on the 530i. It costs less but doesn't hold as much fluid.
