Roadside Emergency Stop

Category: Safety | Related: ,

For reasons of safety during a roadside emergency stop, I painted the trunk tool kit in my BMW dayglow orange, then put a coat of clear lacquer on it to preclude the paint rubbing off on anything in the trunk. Removing the kit from the lid first made it very easy to paint. You can use strips of reflective red Scotch material on the reinforcing ribs of the trunk lid on cars that do not have tool kits. There are more and more roads these days that are lined with guardrails, and the available area for moving away from the flow of traffic is limited. 1, for one, do not want anyone to park in my trunk at 70 mph (or even 55 mph).
