BMW 2002 High Oil Consumption
My 1974 BMW 2002 is plagued with high oil consumption, on the order of one quart every 400 miles.
Great plumes of white smoke exit the tail pipe when slowing down. The engine was rebuilt, and the problem was solved for around 3000 miles, but it started again. The head was worked on, but the problem remains. Power is down and fuel economy dropped to 20 mpg.
