Emergency Fuel Pump Replacement
There I was, with a dead BMW 2002 fuel pump, miles from a replacement fuel pump, out on the "autopista" late at night.
Solution: Empty the washer bottle of water, purge the system by activating the washer pump, siphon the gas out of the tank into the washer bottle, run the hose over to the carb float chamber, activate the pump to fill the float chamber, and head off, using intermittent pulls on the washer control to keep the chamber filled. Make connections as secure as possible you don't want gas spilling out over the engine. You get about 12 to 15 Kilometers per bottle!
