Thanks to my dealer, Danial's BMW of Allentown, Pa., I have been able to complete the installation of a Speedatron CD. I have noticed an increase in gas mileage as well as performance.The Speedatron installation instructions were clear and the installation was easy.
However, the tach did not work per the instructions. To solve this problem, locate the two black wires that connect to the distributor from the firewall. Because both wires are black, cut one while the engine is running. If the engine continues to run, you have the tach wire. Otherwise patch the wire you have cut and use the other black wire and connect it to the + side of the coil.
