Warning on 1972-73 Two-barrel Fours

Owners of above cars might want to check near the battery support shelf for signs of deterioration in the braided fuel return line there. The fuel return line is metal but where it attaches to the shelf there is a braided section. Fumes and spillage from the battery can affect this portion and a break here can destroy gas mileage, siphon the tank dry when you're parked, or even get an engine compartment fire started.
