BMW 2002 Bike Rack

The best thing I have seen for parking a bicycle onto the back of a BMW 2002 is a Allen Deluxe 3-Bike Trunk Mount Rack.

Instead of bolting to the bumper, this one sits on top of the trunk and holds one or two bikes parallel to the trunk with the front wheel turned 90 degrees such that it is perpendicular to the trunk.

With this rack mounted on the back of a 1967 BMW 1600, the trunk lid stays open by itself, although with two bikes on it, you naturally have to hold it open.
